In the tradition of art-world documentaries like 'Stop Making Sense', 'Paris is Burning', 'Crumb' and 'American Movie', ART DEALERS follows eccentric rock n roll performance artist Adam Weiner aka Low Cut Connie, and his band and crew as they attempt to mount a concert production of their new 'Art Dealers' album for a 3 nite run in Covid-era New York City. The stunning high-intensity performances are laid against a backdrop of 5 years of footage that shows an artist plagued by bad luck, but who attacks each performance with humor and stagecraft. Low Cut Connie, the band and crew's unglamorous day-to-day circumstances are shown in contrast to the undeniable magic of the stage show. The film attempts to entertain and inspire while also making a broader statement about the difficult landscape of art and entertainment in modern America.
